Mathematical model of vibrating motion of the earthquake resisting construction

Abstract

The traditional scheme of a building, which is fixed in the foundation, is a console rod rigidly fixed in the foundation and storeys mass is concentrated at the level of floors. These buildings have significant shortcomings under the action of seismic loads. The article presents a new construction of the earthquake resisting building in which the vertical frame members are working in tension, in contrast to traditional buildings in which they operate in compression with a bend, and as the result the frame material works with stress, much less stress in pure compression through flexibility of elements and the action of bending moments. The problem of calculation of such buildings under the scheme elliptical pendulum is considered to provide equation of the system motion and the dynamic forces acting on it. The advantages of the constructive scheme as compared with the traditional pattern are shown in terms of seismic safety. The proposed technique of the approximate calculation allows to calculate the dynamic forces acting on the support structure of a suspended building.
