Means of forming the compensatory competence for Arabic language students philologists

Abstract

The article is devoted to the search for effective means of forming the compensatory competence for Arabic language students philologists. It is noted that the component of communicative competence is the compensatory competence, which consists in the ability and readiness of the student to overcome the inevitable difficulties in speech processes, using all possible aids and techniques. It is remarked that due to the problem of lack of knowledge such as linguistic, linguistic or socio-cultural means at different stages of studying Arabic there are difficulties with the understanding of the text, speaking, etc. Therefore, in practical classes in a foreign language, the teacher should focus on the linguistic, intercultural and educational components of compensatory competence in order to stimulate students’ mental mechanisms and processes for finding ways to fill the lack of knowledge. The recent analysis of the issue of compensatory competence as an integral component of communicative competence has shown that the possession of compensatory competence gives students philologists who study a foreign language (Arabic) the ability to competently solve communicative tasks; to use linguistic and contextual guess; to use in the process of communication paraphrase, descriptive method and synonyms; to choose the correct meaning of the word in the dictionary article; to simplify speech, based on a well-known vocabulary and the structure of speech development; to ignore the insignificant lexical and semantic difficulties; to predict the content of the text by title; not to focus on unknown. The research found that for students studying the Arabic language the formation and development of skills for using linguistic guessing is especially important. It is suggested effective exercises for the formation of compensatory competence and linguistic guessing for Arabic language students philologists. The article describes the importance of the formation of students compensatory competence in terms of further development and skills to find the way out of difficult situations in the lack of linguistic resources.
