Mechanical Properties of Glass Powder Concrete
Journal Title: 河南科技大学学报(自然科学版) - Year 2018, Vol 39, Issue 1
Abstract
The preparation process of glass powder (GP) was briefly introduced. The chemical composition, the particle size distribution of different grinding time, and the rate of heat release of hydration were analyzed. The glass powder were used as a cementitious material into the concrete.Through the design of different adding amount (0%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 50%) , different water-cement ratio (0.4, 0.5 and 0.6) , different grinding time (15 min, 35 min and 60 min) and other factors, the compressive strength of GP concrete was tested. The test results show that the glass powder contains a large amount of silica with potentially volcanic ash activity. The strength of concrete decreases with the increase of the mass fraction of glass powder, and the late volcanic ash activity of glass powder will partly offset the decrease trend of concrete strength. With the increase of grinding time, the particle size of glass particles decrease, the volcanic ash increase, and the dispersion is better, which can effectively improve the slurry structure, the density and the strength of concrete.
