Effects of Salicylic Acid on Seed Germination of Prunella Vulgaris under Drought Stress

Abstract
Prunella vulgaris seeds were presoaked with different concentrations( 0. 5 ~ 3. 0 mmol / L) salicylic acid( SA). Then Prunella vulgaris seeds were soaked in 0. 2 g / mL polyethylene glycol 6000 for simulating drought stress conditions to explore the effects of salicylic acid( SA) solutions on seed germination. The results show that seed germination and seedling growth of Prunella vulgaris are significantly inhibited by drought stress. Prunella vulgaris seed germination index and seedling growth index are increased to some extent after0. 5 ~ 3. 0 mmol / L SA treatments. The treatment at 1. 5 ~ 2. 0 mmol / L SA can significantly improve seed germination rate of Prunella vulgaris,as well as germination energy,germination index,vigor index,radicle length and fresh weight. The best remission effect is obtained at 2. 0 mmol / L concentration of SA solution,and the excessive SA concentration can reduce the drought remission effect.
