Media Education as an Important Component of Professionalism of the Future Teacher-Philologist

Abstract

The article deals with the issue of media education as an important component of real professionalism of future specialist, in particular teacher-philologists. It also explains what the concept of ''media education'' is, describes the importance of this issue for professional development of personality. It is necessary for the future teacher-philologists to master their skills of purposeful usage different media texts in practice, be able to analyze them and develop different types of lessons by using pedagogical facility of media space. Besides, to combine pedagogical methods with media educational technologies and improve their media informative competence is definitely necessary too. That is why it is of the utmost importance to install the media education at the high school thus preparing specialists of pedagogical direction, consider the purpose of media study during the successful implementation of educational reformations and maintain the entire system of media education as it is based on hodiernal media needs of youth with an allowance for their individual and psychological features, preferences and also media culture. As the result, there have been made the decision that the role of media education at students’ studies constantly increasing. It causes the necessity of media study and aims to prepare future teachers for close and effective cooperation with up-to-date media.
