Abstract
In a situation when taking an interest to Marxism seems totally untimely and devoid of any prospects, when it seems futile to try to revive once formidable and powerful concepts such as dictatorship of the proletariat, communist party, etc. and make them regain their meaning and relevance, French intellectual circles persist in their efforts to revisit this theory. One of the most prominent contemporary neo-Marxists is Alain Badiou, who elaborated a new version of neo-Marxism providing a radical rethinking of the basic concepts of Marxism.
