Metabolism rebooting in post-mitotic cells

Abstract

The processes of energy oxidation and gene expression are two core processes in cells and the interaction between them is the basis of various life phenomena in cells. Mitosis is the basis of cell proliferation. After mitosis, cells need to reboot the processes of energy metabolism and gene expression. There are three models of metabolism rebooting in cells: glucose-dominant rebooting, amino-acids-dominant rebooting, and lipid-dominant rebooting. Among them, glucosedominant rebooting follows the gradient of energy oxidation, which is the optimal choice for cells. The rebooting of gene expression lags behind metabolism rebooting. In the process of metabolism rebooting, positive feedbacks between energy oxidation and gene expression drive cell differentiation. There is a time window for resistance to virus invasion during the process of metabolism rebooting in cells.
