Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 4

Abstract

China's obese population has ranked first in the world. Exercise, diet regulation, endocrine therapy, and psychosocial interventions are not ideal for the treatment of severe obesity. With the development of laparoscopic technique, anesthesia technique, and enhanced recovery after surgery concept, bariatric surgery has gradually been popularized and become an important therapeutic approach. Patients undergoing bariatric surgery are more prone to complications such as hypoxemia, pulmonary complications, postoperative pain, nausea and vomiting during perioperative period. In recent years, a large number of studies have suggested that different anesthesia methods may have different effects on intraoperative management and postoperative complications in patients. Therefore, this paper discusses the latest research progress of different anesthesia methods on postoperative complications of bariatric surgery
