METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO STRUCTURING OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL IN IT SPECIALISTS’ DISTANCE LEARNING SYSTEM

Abstract
In order to increase the competitiveness of future specialists, in particular when preparing IT special-ists, there is a task for the education system to provide quality and affordable education. Under these con-ditions, there appears a necessity for developing new and improving of existing means and forms of learn-ing which will allow organizing effectively both auditory and independent learning among students. Us-ing information technology means and distance form of learning can be viewed as one of the ways to solving this task. This article covers methodical approaches to designing an educational process strategy through the example of the «Structure and organization of data in ECM» discipline (subject area 12 «In-formation technologies», speciality 122 «Computer sciences and information technologies»). According to the curriculum the «Structure and organization of data in ECM» discipline belongs to professional and practical preparation courses for higher education institution choice; it is taught in first year. The major goal for studying this discipline is students acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical capabilities, and skills for choosing appropriate data structures for resolving different tasks, as well as their effective or-ganization in ECM’s memory. The strategies of learning process organization are implemented through combining corresponding informational, practical, and controlling blocks of educational software of the distance learning system. The methodical techniques are built upon the specifics of basic stages of teach-ing and the discipline’s peculiarities. The structuring of educational material proposed gives the possibil-ity to organize a flexible learning environment within the distance learning system, and to implement var-ious teaching strategies taking into consideration the complexity of educational material as well as the level of knowledge and capabilities of the students.
