Methodology for determining the required composition of forces and means of engineering troops units to effectively accomplish the task of extracting and purifying water and equipping field water supply points in an operation (combat actions)

Abstract

Following the experience of military operations in wars, modern armed conflicts and peacekeeping operations, a proposed methodology was for determining the required composition of engineering troops to effectively accomplish the task of extracting and purifying water and equipping field water supply points in an operation (combat actions). The basis of the proposed methodology is a mathematical model that implements the method of analytical modeling and is focused on determining the value of the efficiency indicator in quality, which was adopted by the engineering units’s task of extracting and cleaning water and equipping field water supply points in an operation (combat actions). The peculiarity of the proposed method is a comprehensive account of the set of indicators of magnitude, which quantitatively characterize possible scenarios of application and composition of troops in an operation (combat actions), physical and geographical conditions of the area of operation (combat actions), as well as existing standards for providing troops with field water. The methodology is intended for military command and control bodies to determine the required composition of troops in an operation (combat actions), in particular, the composition of the forces and facilities of the engineering troops for the effective execution of the task of extracting and cleaning water and equipping field water supplies in an operation (combat actions).
