Microprocessor systems of electric interlocking with the application of optical fiber telecommunication cables on the Railways of Ukraine
Journal Title: Електромагнітна сумісність та безпека на залізничному транспорті - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 15
Abstract
The aim of paper is an analysis of the existing types of fiber-optical lines, an evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages arising at the maintenance of its and determination of the direction in the modernization of Railway lines in Ukraine. The analysis of the existing microprocessor systems of railway automatics is carried out for the Railways of Ukraine in particular on the Pridneprovsky Railway. Scientific novelty is improving the formulas for determining the increase in attenuation coef-ficient in fiber-optic lines by taking into account the special coefficient depending on the length and amplitude of micro- and macrobends. It has been established that an increase of the number of microbends per unit length of a fiber-optic cable line leads to raise in attenuation to 0.445 dB / km with the number of 20 bends. The additional attenuation must not exceed the intrinsic attenuation of the fiber by more than 40 ... 50 %. Therefore, normalized attenuation is 0.5 ... 1 dB/km at the wavelength 1.31 μm for a sin-gle-mode fiber. The number of microbends per unit length should not exceed nine (ten). Also, according to the simulation results, we can conclude that with an increase in the twist pitch from 12 to 30 mm, the additional attenuation decreases from 0.1 to 0.021 dB / km, which does not exceed the allowable values. The reliability parameters of fiber-optic lines are estimated for the Pridneprovsky Railway.
