MICROSTRUCTURE EVOLUTION OF PURE TITANIUM DURING ECAP
Journal Title: Materials Engineering - Materialove inzinierstvo (MEMI) - Year 2011, Vol 18, Issue 3
Abstract
The main goal of the presented paper was to describe deformation behaviour of the commercial purity titanium during the ECAP method. Attention was paid particularly on reached mechanical properties of above mentioned material. Design of experiments rested in extrusion at temperature in range from room temperature up to 280°C. The way of approach was planned in investigation of imposed strain accumulation ability. Among used methods for determination of intended aims were tensile tests, TEM, SEM. Mechanical properties were evaluated using standard tensile tests as well as small punch tests. Correlation between mechanical properties from tensile test and punch test was developed. Depending on imposed strain (e = 2 up to 8) was found that mechanical properties (namely tensile strength) have increased up to 960 MPa. Developed ECAP process enables controlling morphology of microstructural constituents and workability of titanium Grade 1.

COMPUTER CONTROLLED INVESTIGATION OF SURFACE AND BULK PROCESSES IN MG-BASED ALLOYS DURING HYDROGEN ABSORPTION
Different Mg-based alloys were tailored and prepared to investigate the surface and bulk processes during hydrogen absorption. Volumetric-, resistance-, XRD-, optical-, and mass measurements were carried out. Heat treatm...
UTILIZATION OF STEREOLOGY FOR QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF PLASTIC DEFORMATION OF FORMING PIECES
Mechanical working leads to final properties of forming pieces, which are affected by conditions of production technology. Utilization of stereology leads to the detail analysis of three-dimensional plastic deformed mate...
Influence of mictrostructure features on the corrosion behaviourof AZ91 alloy in chloride media
The influence of the microstructure of as-cast AZ91 magnesium alloy, which applied to solution annealing treatment and ageing treatment respectively, was evaluated in terms of its corrosion behaviour in 0.1 M NaCl soluti...
Microstructure and properties of cast iron after laser surface hardening
Laser surface hardening of cast iron is not trivial due to the material’s heterogeneity and coarse-grained microstructure, particularly in massive castings. Despite that, hardening of heavy moulds for automotive industry...
STUDY ON PHYSICAL - MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ALKALI ACTIVATED MATERIALS BASED ON FLY ASH
Alkali activated materials are relatively new materials, thanks to their good mechanical, physical, thermal properties and at the same time environmental friendliness, they could be widely adopted in different fields. Th...
