MIDIENDO LA COBERTURA DE LOS SERVICIOS BÁSICOS EN UNA CIUDAD MEDIANTE UNA MEDIDA DE PROXIMIDAD

Abstract
Access to basic services has acquired great relevance in recent years, since these services are essential to ensure the quality of life in modern cities. However, the geographic distribution of the population and the location of the services have meant that access to them is not homogeneous. The purpose of this research is to have a tool that allows determining the coverage of health and education services using a proximity-based approach. The key concepts of our research are location, distance threshold, distance between the area and services, and a measure of coverage. Mexico City was used as a case study, taking the units of the health sector and schools of the educational system as services. Our proposal allows obtaining the existing services within a distance threshold, determined and visualizing the information on a map. Likewise, the system generates a report with detailed information, such as the level and type of service, and the distance from the center of the geographical area to each of the services.
