SOLAR DRYER PROTOTYPE TO OPTIMIZE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION

Abstract
The impact caused by food loss around the world is very high in environmental, social and economic terms. With the aim of using unharvested agricultural products as they do not meet the physical characteristics required by the market, work was done, with the support of tomato producers from eastern Morelos, on applied research for the development of a prototype of a solar dryer that rotates following the sun's rays, with heliotropic movement, to capture solar radiation for longer. It has a mobile application for Android in order to monitor temperature and humidity. The current capacity of the prototype, which can be scaled according to the needs of the producers, is three kilos of sliced product. Tests were carried out with tomato and apple, achieving dehydration in 10 and 5 hours of exposure respectively, with an average ambient temperature of 29 degrees Celsius. It is intended to optimize resources using ecotechnology so that it can be used remotely and by anyone, offering an alternative to reduce costs, diversify the offer and benefit the population of the region with an option of nutritious and easy-to-preserve foods.
