Minimally Invasive Surgery Service Development System in Šiauliai Republican Hospital

Abstract

The paper aims to discus the theoretical aspects of health care reform and further development features, provides the concept of health care services, describes the concept of minimally invasive surgery and the development of surgery. The study explored the situation in the Šiauliai Republican hospital, experts have evaluated the world based situation of minimally invasive surgery, in Lithuania and in Šiauliai Republican hospital. Particular attention among the experts has been paid to the perspectives of service development tendencies of minimally invasive surgery in Šiauliai Republican hospital. The research confirmed that, during the implementation of the health reform in the Republic of Lithuania Šiauliai Republican hospital gains the hospital standards of LR level as well as the EU standard. The hospital provides a minimally invasive surgery coincide with the general global situation and Lithuanian as well in this field. However, these services, their scope has not fully reached the needed satisfactory level yet but this is largely dependent on the overall health care situation in Lithuania. At the end of paper conclusions, recommendations, the system, which can partly improve the provision and availability of services in Šiauliai Republican hospital, are provided.
