Mixed variant calcinosis cutis

Journal Title: Journal of Medical and Allied Sciences - Year 2012, Vol 2, Issue 2

Abstract

A 7 year old boy presented with multiple, raised, hard nodules of varying sizes over both elbows and right knee and small milia like lesions over the chin. Serum levels of calcium, phosphorus and uric acid were normal. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) followed by excisional biopsy was done. A final diagnosis of calcinosis cutis was made based on histopathological and clinical findings. This is a rare case of mixed variants/subtypes-subepidermal calcified nodules and milia like lesions.
