Abstract
The article is devoted to an interdisciplinary study of state coercion within the framework of philosophical and legal discourse. The thesis is justified, according to which modern democratic transformations in the state require revising the concept of “state coercion” and its new definition, which would be based on the principles of anthropocentrism, democratism and take into account the achievements of both Ukrainian legal thought and European law and philosophy of law.
