Modelling of Buck-Boost Converter for Photovoltaic and Battery Power Systems
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Computer and Communication Technology - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 11
Abstract
In this paper a buck-boost converter with photovoltaic (PV) and battery power for high step-up system is discussed and implemented. The motive of this project is to design a MPPT(maximum power point tracking ) Algorithm will be disabled only when the battery charging voltage is too high. The objective of this project to design a MPPT for efficiently maximizing the power of a PV panel supplying to a load or battery bus under varying metrological conditions. The coupled inductors are used to achieve high step-up voltage gain and reduce the voltage stress of input side switches. A PV array output power is used to directly control the dc-dc converter this reducing the complexity of the system . A PWM dc-dc SEPI converter topology operating in continuous current mode is simulated for the MPPT. The monitoring of power output is choosen as tracking algorithms for the MPPT. The controlled scheme of the proposed converter has Merits of high boosting level reduce number of devices and simple control strategy.
