MODERN METHODS OF MATERIAL FLOW MANAGEMENT ON RAILWAY TRANSPORT

Abstract
The article deals with modern methods of material flow management at the railway transport at the present stage of development of transport logistics including: system analysis; technical and economic method; the method of cybernetics; prediction method. It is proved that freight and passenger transportation are possible to provide if the large transport and logistics system of major and concomitant traffic flows works efficiently. It is justified that optimization of parameters of actual material flows is ensured: in the short-term – resource and structural reserves; in the long-term – functional reserves and a system of management of reserves. The article proposes methods for managing resources and reserves, which are reduced to the creation and realization of reserves in three main logistic flows: material, financial, and informational. Material flow is also called the movement of goods, parts, inventories, which is considered in the process of applying various logistic operations to them and attributed to the time interval. Considering the material flow from these positions we come to the necessity of quantifying it using two interrelated indicators: physical volume and time interval. In order to accelerate the processes of delivery of goods and passengers with railway transport, it is necessary to form the efficient transport and logistics system for the implementation of the full range of basic transport and related services (tangible and intangible flows).
