MODERNIZATION AND COUNTER-MODERNIZATION COMPOSITES IN SOCIAL DIMENSIONS OF FOLLOWERS DIFFERENT CONFESSIONS OF UKRAINE: BY EMPIRICAL STUDY RESULTS (PART 1)

Abstract
The article is devoted to the presentation of the first part of the results of empirical research of modernization/counter-modernization social representations in representatives of the three main Christian confessions of Ukraine. The author concludes that the comparison of the results of the empirical study in terms of comparing the modernization/counter-modernization components of the representatives of the three main Christian confessions (Orthodox, Greek Catholics and Protestants) speaks about the most expressed counter-modernization intentions available in religious representations of the first two confessions. It is substantiated that such a more pronounced counter-modernization of Orthodoxy and Greco-Catholicism in comparison with Protestantism is due to the syncretization of religious consciousness with different archaisms of pagan (traditional) religious movements.
