Модифікація та адаптація методики «Індекс організаційної напруженості (на прикладі освітніх організацій)» (Modification and adaptation of Index of Organizational Tensions questionnaire (on the example of educational organizations))

Abstract
The modification of R. L. Kahn, D. M. Wolfe et al. questionnaire has made it possible to bring it in line with the realities of Ukrainian organizations and to distinguish the scales that correspond to the main types of organizational tension in Ukrainian educational organizations. The modified version of the questionnaire includes 30 questions and 5 organizational tension scales, which include the tension in employee's work load and work-related information scale, the employees' vertical and horizontal interaction tension scale, the organizational and psychological work conditions tension scale, the employees' organizational promotion and decision-making participation scale and the employees' socio-economic and living conditions tension scale. The questionnaire has been adapted on a group of 508 headteachers and teaching staff from general education institutions of the central regions of Ukraine. The data obtained during the questionnaire adaptation demonstrated its high reliability and validity for the use in educational institutions. The analysis of the competitive validity has shown that the questionnaire scales are closely related to the indicator of the negative affect of work on employees' mental state (D. Watson ‘NegativeAffectofWorkScale’). The modified and standardized Index of Organizational Tensions questionnaire (on the example of educational organizations) can be used to analyze the levels and types of organizational tension in educational organizations.
