МОДУСИ БРИТАНСЬКОЇ МОВНОЇ КАРТИНИ СВІТУ У ВИДАННІ «THE GARDIAN»

Abstract
Статтю присвячено дослідженню мовної картини світу як важливого етноцентричного конструкту та лінгвістичного концепту. Висвітлено основні модуси британської мовної картини світу. Визначено їхні екстралінгвістичні чинники і роль у соціокультурній динаміці британського суспільства. Виявлено та схарактеризовано мовні концепти, які є частотними і найбільш впливовими у дискурсі видання «The Gardian». Вказано на їхні актуальні конотації. Зроблено висновок про те, що британська мовна картина світу не лише повною мірою відображає соціокультурні зміни у суспільстві, але й активно їх формує. The article is dedicated to the study of the language picture of the world as an important ethnocentric structure and linguistic concept. The linguistic material that forms the content of a certain language picture of the world gives an idea of a number of extra-linguistic phenomena: the essence of the historical period, the content of human practices, the focus of their thinking, the nature of the worldview, the hierarchy of values. The appeal to the language picture of the world of the «Guardian» as one of the leading British high-quality editions, allowed us to simulate the discursive space in which the social life of the British currently exists due to the Brexit process and the controversy that it caused in the British society. It is known that mass media not only inform their audience about the events, but also determine which place this or that event takes in the society. On the one hand the concepts that make up the language picture of the world reflect the socio-cultural dynamics of the nation, and on the other hand, they influence its actively. «The Guardian» is a communicative environment in which the concepts that form the language picture of the world of the British are disseminated and consolidated. The most frequent ethnonym in any language picture of the world is one that stands for its own group. In this case the most common conceptual combinations concerning Britain have been identified in «The Guardian». It was proved that the neologism concept, which largely determines the content of the linguistic picture of the British world, is Brexit. The post-truth concept was known to have been the one that related to the consequences of Brexit. It reflected the principles of the postmodern philosophy with its imaginary division into true and false judgments, the cult of the absurd, ignorance of the author's responsibility for the statement. British language picture of the world not only fully reflects the socio-cultural changes in the society, but also actively develops them. This is clearly seen on the example of interconnected Brexit and post-truth concepts, which are frequent and influential in the media discourse. They can be evaluated as a concept-cause and a concept-consequence, since the powerful discourse of Brexit caused social processes that were later evaluated by the British as post-truth.
