Motivational components of managerial competence of the bodies of the National Police of Ukraine

Abstract
The research paper deals with the analysis of the motivational model of managerial competence of the heads of the National Police of Ukraine. The author’s vision of essence of the concept of managerial competence of the heads of the National Police of Ukraine in the context of psychology of management and legal psychology is revealed. The purpose of the study was to analyze the motivational model of managerial competence of the head of police authorities through definition of the concept of “managerial competence”, the characteristics of its components and psychological factors of the development of managerial and professional competence of the heads of police authorities. The main idea of the research paper is professionally significant personal, motivational and business characteristics of the heads of the National Police being crucial for the development of managerial competence and managerial culture in general. The structural components of managerial competence of the head are analyzed. It was stated that managerial abilities, professional maturity and independence in making managerial decisions, managerial qualification, which is regulated by scientific, methodological and legal provisions of state documents, jurisprudence, legal psychology and management psychology, proper level of professional competence are important in the structure of managerial competence of the heads of the National Police. The psychological and motivational as well as the psycho-organizational factors of development of managerial competence of the heads of the National Police of Ukraine are considered. It is concluded that the motivational model of managerial competence of the heads of the National Police of Ukraine is the theoretical basis for psychological research of the professional suitability of the policeman for managerial work and enables identification of potential leaders capable of successful management of human, social, legal, material and financial resources in the field of police administration.
