MÜDEK REPORT CARD: AN ALTERNATIVE MODEL FOR ASSESSMENT OF PROGRAM OUTCOMES
Journal Title: Endüstri Mühendisliği - Year 2019, Vol 30, Issue 1
Abstract
Accreditation for undergraduate engineering education has become an indispensable quality assurance tool for the engineering schools in a world with ever-growing competition. ‘Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs’ (MÜDEK) is the authorized board for accreditation of engineering programs (First Cycle) in Turkey. It is essential to share experiences of success for the benefit of engineering schools either facing accreditation difficulties or going through the accreditation procedure for the very first time, notwithstanding the existence of engineering departments already familiar and confident with the process. We believe that the most challenging issue is to certify how the program outcomes have been achieved for the graduates through the application of objective performance evaluation tools. In this study, we introduce a novel integrated approach of micro and macro level modeling to be implemented for each graduating student for the purpose of attaining the goals of engineering education which is described with an experience of continuous improvement.
