Journal Title: Psychoterapia - Year 2015, Vol 172, Issue 1

Abstract

The aim of this article is to familiarize the reader with the model of the multi-family therapy used in working with families with the problem of domestic violence. The inspiration to write this text was authors' involvement in the European project EU's Daphne III: Multi-Family Pack Training for Professionals Working with Abusive and Violent high risk Families (MFT-V), aimed at developing the manual and training materials for professionals engaged in family therapy, for families in which violence against children was identified. The project used the experiences of multifamily therapy at Marlborough Family Centre in London, the Center that for many decades creatively develops this concept of therapy and has particular experience in conducting complex interactions to families with the problem of violence. Marlborough Family Centre model, which is based on systemic therapy and psychodynamic group therapy approach, is the use of psychotherapy sessions in groups consisting of parents and children. During this psychotherapy sessions multiple techniques, including workshop techniques are used to facilitate difficult problems in family relationships. The experiences of the London team, due to its originality, may be found interesting by therapeutic teams, not only those facing the problem of violence in the family. Key words: multifamily therapy, multifamily therapy with the problem of domestic violence (MFT-V), rules and techniques of therapy
