Journal Title: Eminak - Year 2016, Vol 1, Issue 3

Abstract

Current EU migration policy involves migration control, collaboration with the countries of immigrants’ origin, assistance to refugees, the counteraction to smuggling and so on. However, such actions didn’t lead to solving problems but changed the direction of illegal migration flow. During the recent months, the number of illegal migrants and refugees is only increasing. Disability of the EU migration policy has led to the mass influx of refugees. To the main reasons belong situation destabilized in the region and tolerant attitude to refugees from the EU. Taking into account the existing Schengen agreement between EU countries, refugees have the right to seek asylum in any country of the European Union. But today's realities point to the ineffectiveness of bureaucratic mechanisms. So, Member States particularly faced the problem of illegal migration regulation. Recently, migrant rights protection has lost its popularity and maintenance among the population due to increased burden on the economies of the Member States. As a result, further unemployment is steadily increasing. Therefore, right and far-right political forces in some European countries have started to gain popularity. In fact, the EU has faced the problem of choice, which will depend on the further development of a multicultural society. The paper investigates the problem of refugees and policy of multiculturalism in terms of the EU immigration crisis. Specifically, the European policy inefficiency causes to tackle illegal immigration were established, therefore the revised strategy for the EU migration policy and possible scenarios of a multicultural Europe in terms of migration crisis are researched
