Abstract
Résumé: Dans cet article, nous nous proposons de réfléchir à la relation entre l’erreur et l’humour tels qu’ils se manifestent dans un corpus de dessins humoristiques britanniques représentant le monde du travail et des affaires. Cette réflexion dévoile non seulement les stratégies mises en oeuvre par les humoristes mais aussi la richesse du thème de l’erreur, qui s’avère révélateur de questions de la mentalité et donc de la culture britanniques. Le potentiel pédagogique de ces documents pour un enseignement d’anglais des affaires en Langues Étrangères Appliquées sera également traité. Abstract: This article aims to explore the relationship between error and humour as they appear in a corpus of British cartoons depicting the world of work and business. This analysis reveals not only the strategies used by the cartoonists concerned, but also the fact that the theme of error is extremely rich, for example because it can be linked to questions of British mentality and culture. The potential role of these documents as teaching tools in a Business English course in Applied Languages will also be examined.
