Abstract
The article is a presentation of the silhouette of Andrzej Roch Świętochowski – geographer, art historian, tutor and private school teacher, long-time director of the Warsaw Fire Insurance Society, author of unpublished translations of Friedrich Schiller’s plays and original poetry, epic poetry; memoirs, and scientifc dissertations. In the article the author analyzes and interprets one of the early poems by Świętochowski – Te Prisoner’s dream in the context of Romantic tradition.
