Abstract
The article is a review of “Errant Knights and Teachers of Reason. Dialogue of Polish Literature of 1864–1918 with the Romanticism” (“Błędni rycerze i nauczyciele rozumności. Dialogi z romantyzmem w literaturze polskiej lat 1864–1918”, Lublin 2015) by Elżbieta Flis-Czerniak, which contains insightful interpretations of Romantic motifs in Polish prose at the turn of the century (works of Henryk Sienkiewicz, Bolesław Prus, Eliza Orzeszkowa, Stefan Żeromski, and Tadeusz Miciński).
