Narodny Rukh of Ukraine parliamentary elections in 1994, 1998: Mykolaiv regional aspect

Abstract
In the article based on archive of Mykolaiv regional organization of Rukh and press is analyzed the conditions and features of the campaign Rukh as the most powerful party of national democratic bloc in parliamentary elections in 1994, 1998. Authors highlight basic the forms and methods of work with voters, present the results of voting in Mykolayiv area. It should be noted that the election campaign in 1994 in Mykolaiv found a number of failures in organizing advocacy events Rukh. Taking into account the shortcomings of previous party leaders are actively working to expand the social base, forming a positive political image, improving the communication process. The main activity Rukh activists in the region was a cultural and educational development, youth and the environment support. Despite the high organizational level of campaign information support in the party media, Rukh failed to reach the electoral advantage of the principal ideological opponent – Communist Party of Ukraine. Among the important factors influencing the election results can be stated such points as: opposition of the ruling elite side of the area, traditionally strong position of the parties «left bias» in the region, the low level of consolidation in the ranks of the National Democrats.
