Abstract
In Małgosia versus Małgosia, a novel by Ewa Nowacka, proper nouns are an important element of the creation of the literary world. They function in a cultural-communicative area of the language use. They are multifunctional. The semantic and connotative layers of the proper nouns bond the work into a harmonious whole.
