Journal Title: Asian J of Pharm Sci & Tech - Year 2014, Vol 4, Issue 4

Abstract

ABSTRACT A biometric study on diabetes mellitus uses logistic regression analysis to examine the possibility of using few explanatory variables to explain variation in the dependent variable. It is used to analysis a cross – sectional retrospective study of 350 male patients, who are presented first time for coronary angiography at the present clinical. The mean age was 50.80(±9.6) among male patients. The explanatory variables involved in this analyze shows a multiple relationship among them and the response variable Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is a binary variable, the logistic model is fitted to predict the coronary artery disease with the help of significant risk factors, Diabetes Mellitus (DM), Age, Chest Pain, Smoking and lipids, high blood pressure, High Cholesterol, Lack of Exercise and obesity are significant risk factors associated with CAD among male people population. Key words: Cross sectional study, Diabetes mellitus, Logistic regression, Odds ratio, Wald’s test.
