SCREENING FOR ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY FROM LEAF EXTRACT OF Cassia alata L., Cassia fistula L. AND Cassia tora L.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT The plant of Cassia alata L, Cassia fistula L and Cassia tora L (Caesalpinaceae) were subjected for soxhlet extraction by using ethanol. The crude extracts have been studied for antimicrobial activity against human pathogenic bacteria and fungal pathogens. The ethanolic extracts exhibited moderate antibacterial and antifungal activity the test pathogens. Key words: Antimicrobial activity, Cassia alata, Cassia fistulaand Cassiatora.
