ANORECTAL MALFORMATIONS IN CHILDREN

Abstract

Anorectal malformations (ARM) are ones of the most common congenital anomalies. The relation of clinical and instrumental symptoms at different anatomical variants of ARM in 185 children was revealed. It was Found that ARM are complex anomalies that occur in various combinations of fistul and unfistul forms. The first clinical signs of fistul forms of ARM depend on anatomical character of intestinal lumen to other adjacent organs, and the diameter of the anastomosis. Unfistul ARM form is characterized by symptoms of acute intestinal obstruction. Any form of atresia of the rectum and anus should be suspected preoperatively as the fistul form until its presence or absence is confirmed by the auxiliary diagnostic methods between stages of surgical correction of this anomaly or intraoperatively – during the second stage (anoprocto- plastics).
