Bid Premiums on Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2001–2011

Abstract
Paper is concerned to the issue of forming a takeover premium on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. List of empirical studies conducted by many researchers is presented in the first part of the article. Only a few research works describe the bid premium issue in emerging markets. According to the study takeover premiums on the WSE, are much lower than in developed markets. In the analyzed period 2000-2011 can be seen large fluctuations in the size of premiums. In subsequent years these premiums vary considerably depending on whether they are sectorial or financial, and domestic or foreign.
