DEVELOPMENT OF A METHODOLOGY ON CRITICAL LOADS FOR TRACE METALS IN SOILS AND SURFACE WATERS

Abstract

This study presents the results of a local survey of metal contents in moss species Pleurozium schreberi, soils and Crisul Repede river and uses them to derive estimates of Oradea toxic trace metals deposition. Comparison of results with matched sites and moss species from the 1998 survey demonstrated significant reductions in concentrations of cadmium and lead. The clusters of high concentrations of heavy metals represent local emission sources.
