Effective properties of a new auxetic triangular lattice:an analytical approach
Journal Title: Frattura ed Integrità Strutturale - Year 2014, Vol 8, Issue 29
Abstract
In this article we propose a new auxetic periodic lattice with negative Poisson's ratio which tends tothe limit ν=-1 under particular conditions. We have studied its generation and kinematic, and we give a fulldescription of the mechanical properties of this innovative model. Calibrating the geometrical configuration ofthe lattice and the mechanical properties of the constituent material we are able to have a Poisson's ratio whichis arbitrarily close to -1.

2D size, position and shape definition of defects by B-scan image analysis
The non-destructive evaluation of defects by automatic procedures is of great importance for structural components. Thanks to the developments of the non-contact ultrasonic techniques, the automation of the i...
Recent developments in multi-parametric three-dimensional stress field representation in plates weakened by cracks and notches
The paper deals with the three-dimensional nature and the multi-parametric representation of the stress field ahead of cracks and notches of different shape. Finite thickness plates are considered, under different...
Fatigue behaviour of titanium dental endosseous implants
In this work two different titanium dental implants are analyzed in order to evaluate their mechanical strength. An ad-hoc designed experimental apparatus is prepared to test against fatigue these implants in a way that...
Crack path simulation for cylindrical contact under fretting conditions
In this work different strategies to estimate crack path for cylindrical contacts under fretting conditions are carried out. The main goal is to propose and to evaluate methodologies not only to estimate the ...
Robust design of a polygonal shaft-hub coupling
In this work, the Taguchi method is applied for the optimal choice of design parameter values for a polygonal shaft-hub coupling. The objective is to maximize a performance function, minimizing, at the same time,...
