Revenues and expenditures of the local government in the Republic of Ireland

Abstract
The article characterizes revenues and expenditures of local governments in the Republic of Ireland. It was presented the evolution of that system against a background of the functioning of these units since the middle of the 70. XX century. First and foremost, there were studied the sources of the revenues as well as their structure in the field of own revenues and transfers from the state budget. Furthermore, there were characterized the purposes of the expenditures, especially the current ones. In consequence, there were shown some main issues which determine present system of revenues and expenditures of the local government in the Republic of Ireland.
