Sulla storia degli studi di frattura in Italia

Abstract

La storia degli studi sulla frattura è inestricabilmente connessa con il progresso della tecnologia. All'inizio pochissimo fu scritto. Dobbiamo riconoscere a Leonardo e Galileo il merito di essere stati fra i primi a scrivere su questo problema e sui modi di misurare e prevedere carichi di rottura. Più tardi, scienziati italiani si distinsero nel tentativo di stabilire leggi sulla resistenza dei materiali e sui criteri di rottura sotto sforzi multipli. In questa memoria si descrivono i lavori degli scienziati italiani dei secoli scorsi e si confrontano con i lavori di altri scienziati europei del passato.
