Tendencies on global market of financial derivatives

Abstract
Derivatives market has characteristics which distinguish it when we compare it to the others markets.. This market is big because investors are very interested in opening positions using derivatives. They can take both market risk (interest rate risk, currency risk equities risk) and credit risk. The most popular are interest rate derivatives. Derivatives are very differential financial instruments group. Investors deal using forwards, futures, swaps or options. There are both plain vanilla and exotic derivatives, with short, medium and long term maturity. Derivatives are quoted as well on exchanges as OTC market. but the biggest open positions are on OTC market. Derivatives market has been intensively developed since global financial crisis 2007-2009. During this crisis investors reduced open positions and the market still is not on path of dynamic growth like it was before 2007. OTC derivatives market has deficiencies like low transparency, high counterparty risk or over speculation in some segments of derivatives market. But there were some changes in low environmental to improve effectiveness of derivatives market functionality.
