The shortage of managerial knowledge as a potential cause of a start-up company failure – a case study

Abstract

 The situation of a young, innovative company with strong technical competences is described in the article. The lack of managerial competences results in faulty project management, which creates a substantial risk to company survival. The case study is preceded by short description of the situation of small firms in the first years of functioning with analysis of failure reasons in such companies.
