NEONATAL CARE OF NEWBORN BABY ON MECHANICAL VENTILATION

Abstract
Mechanical ventilation for respiratory support is one of the most effective methods for mortality and morbidity in neonatal intensive care units. Skin care, pain management, airway safety, humidification, protection of body temperature, nutrition, physiotherapy are the main factors affecting the treatment process in the follow-up of babies with a mechanical ventilator. Regular, careful, adequate and appropriate care has a significant impact on mortality and morbidity rates. In this article, important key points in the care of babies who require respiratory support in the neonatal intensive care unit and whose respiration is supported by a mechanical ventilator will be discussed.
