NEW SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF LAMOTRIGINE IN BULK AND PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE FORM
Journal Title: Journal of Drug Discovery and Therapeutics - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 11
Abstract
The new, selective and sensitive visible spectrophotometric method have been developed for the estimation of Lamotrigine in bulk and in pharmaceutical preparations. The amino group in lamotrigine is diazotized with sodiumnitrite and hydrochloric acid at 00C temperature . After Diazotisation ,the diasoniumsalt, the diazonium salt is coupled with resorcinol. The orange coloured chromogen in the method is stable for more than 24 hours with wavelength max. 410nm. The orange coloured chromogen is used to determine the Lamotrigine spectrophotometrically.
