Numerical Simulation of Thermal Processes Occurring at Testing Hydrostatic Pumps in Cavitation Mode
Journal Title: HIDRAULICA - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 1
Abstract
This article refers to the use of infrared thermography in the predictive maintenance of hydraulic drive systems. Based on experimental research on the temperature evolution in a hydraulic system which operates in cavitation mode, a numerical simulation model was built. The numerical simulation results are compared with experimental measurements in the points of interest of the hydraulic diagram versus numerical simulation model. The results obtained show that infrared thermal imaging camera procedure can be used in the limit of ± 10% errors as a predictive maintenance method in hydraulic drive systems.

Comparative Study of a 1D and 2D Numerical Analysis Modelling a Water Flow at a River Confluence under Accidental High Waters
There are presented two numerical simulations – 1D and 2D – regarding the water flow on Timiş River in the Town of Caransebeş, Romania, at the confluence with its tributary Sebeş River. There was considered an accidental...
Automatic Electro-Hydraulic System for a P.E.T. Waste Baling Press
Environmental protection is one of the leading factors when designing modern industrial machinery, their increased overall energy efficiency requiring the use of new industrial design concepts, smart driving circuits and...
Fluid Flow Particularities within Hydraulic Working Circuit
As is known from the principles of fluid mechanics, the flow phenomenon of the working fluid within a hydraulic circuit is always accompanied by energy losses that are inevitably determined by the frictional forces with...
Estimation of Water Infiltration at a Given Embankment Dam with Sealing Deficiencies by a 3D Numerical Model
The paper presents a way of studying the water infiltration at the Motru embankment Dam (river ballast fill, clay core sealing) by a 3D numerical model covering the deficient right supporting bank. Since due to sealing i...
Studying the Influence of River Works on River Flow Regime with 1-D Hydraulic Modelling
The one-dimensional (1-D) hydraulic models are the most adequate for river modelling flow. This case study involves the rehabilitation of the CFR bridge, km 38 + 389, line 116 DII Simeria - Petrosani at Ruşor town, Huned...
