Obraz prowincji wołyńskiej w opowieści Włodzimierza Korolenki "Niewidomy muzyk"

Abstract
The paper discusses the representation of Volhynia in Vladimir Korolenko’s tale The Blind Musician. The tale displays characteristics typical of the Russian Volhynia text, such as the idyll chronotope, parochialism, the ruins motif and the history chronotope. The tale features no binary oppositions, such as those found in the Volhynia text in the writer’s other works. In consequence, the representation of Volhynia in The Blind Musician is inherently harmonious, which accentuates its idyllic character.
