Abstract
In the paper, the author focuses on the ontological basis of Jacobson’s approach to paradigmatic and syntagmatic relations and the applicability of such ideas to the analysis of communication among felons. The author points out to the two problems in Jacobson’s model: the view on code along with its reference to the reality and the lack of analysis of ideological zone.
