Journal Title: Journal of the Human and Social Science Researches - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 4
Abstract
This study aims to explore occupational risks and accidents in seizure and detention practices through a field study. For this purpose, the demographic characteristics of the respondents were evaluated with the factual questions, while their perceptions about the sub-problems of the study were measured by open-ended questions. The survey was conducted via the Turkish National Police (TNP) institutional intra-net (pol-net), and 1066 respondents, who are members of TNP, were attended to the survey. The results of the field survey revealed the reasons and processes leading to occupational risks and accidents in seizure and detention practices. Depending on the insights obtained from the field study, this study generates suggestions that help coping with occupational risks and accidents in seizure and detention practices.
