Abstract
(About Theory and Correlation, and the Tools of Religiousness Measurement) Recently a study written by Jean Decety and his colleagues has appeared, showing a negative correlation between „religion and childhood altruism”. The researchers’ interpretations of the results and the forcible causation of contact were a great cause of debate in both Hungarian and other nation’s press organs and social medias. Overall, thousands of emotionally charged pro and contra commentaries were produced only in Hungarian social media. I argue that the correlation was misleading - or at least not justifi ed - with the neglect of many background factors - in the relationship between childhood religiosity and altruism. Since the determination of the religiosity of children is also questionable, I will also look at the experiences, using new instruments of religiosity measurements.
