ON THE STRESS-STRAIN STATE OF THE WALL ROCKS AT THE SUDDEN COLLAPSE OF THE MAIN ROOF

Abstract
Purpose. To determine of the stress-strain state of the lateral rocks during sudden collapse of the roof rocks. Meth- odology. Complex methods of research using the basic provisions of theoretical mechanics and impact theory have been used. Results. The parameters of the hanging rock console, the type of its support and the magnitude of the impulse force pulse in the occurrence of emergency situations associated with the collapse of the lateral rocks, determine the stability of the roof and the soil of the developed formation, as well as the state of the mine workings have been estab- lished. Originality. With the length of the rock console of the direct roof over 20 m, as a result of the collapse of the lateral rocks, the magnitude of the impact pulse of the colliding bodies as a result of sudden caving remains constant has been established. Practical value. Measures aimed at increasing the stability of mine workings in the development of coal seams in difficult mining and geological conditions have been developed. Сonclusions. In order to prevent sudden collapses of lateral rocks in the development of steep coal seams, one should be guided by the use of a universal method for controlling rock pressure and protecting mine workings has been proved.
