OPTICAL RADIATION HAZARD EVALUATION ON “HOT” WORKPLACES IN INDUSTRY – CHOSEN PROBLEMS
Journal Title: Proceedings of Electrotechnical Institute Prace Instytutu Elektrotechniki - Year 2012, Vol 59, Issue 256
Abstract
The article presents main problems related to measurements of optical radiation on “hot” workplaces, which are needed for hazard evaluation. On the base of results of measurements and hazard evaluation on workplaces in different foundries (steel, glass, aluminum, cast iron processing) the real occupational hazard was presented. The thermal hazard of cornea and lens was the most often stated on these workplaces. From the other hand the thermal and photochemical hazard of retina and photochemical hazard of lens arising from UVA was not stated at all. The range of hazard evaluation on these workplace and some guidelines on measurements manner were proposed.
